What you may (or may not) find here…

My name is Mel. I am blogging in order to get some things off my chest. Not in a bad way, or even in a vengeful way. It will hopefully be more of the vindication of a dream I have had for the past 10 years. To do something more with my life. To actually help people in a more spiritual or knowledgeable way. Or just to make someone laugh now and again.

You see, people have always told me that I have lived a life “beyond my numerical years”. Now I am not really sure what that means. This usually happens after people ask me what i have done in my lifetime, or wonder what my experiences are. Yes, I have done a lot of things in 30 some years. Rode and trained horses, played sports, went to 2 high schools at the same time, went to college, worked a lot of different jobs, served in the Army, got blown up a little bit,  had children, got married, moved around a lot, got divorced, had too many hospital visits, got married again and I am still standing.  I may be a little hunched over with bigger bags under my eyes, but I am still in the upright and standing position as God intended.

My life now is more than I could have ever imagined. I get to live a wonderful life with my best friend and soul mate, farming and raising cattle with my kids, and watching them grow and learn real life skills.  That is why I am really passionate about helping others understand what we do and why we do it. How we farm and why we farm this way.

So I guess my wish, for whoever reads any of the posts in this blog, is that you may have some laughs, shed a few tears, learn a new lesson or even come away with a different point of view to a similar situation. And yes, there are going to be a few “b@#$ sessions” involved in this as well. I mean really, I’m only human, ok? If there is one thing I have learned in my life so far, it’s that nothing turns out as planned. And I kinda like it.
